Amlexanox weight loss hype? Elevating thermogenesis or just placebo?

I just read the 2023 paper on amlexanox in obese adults with metabolic syndrome and it raised a lot of eyebrows. The study says it blocks TBK1/IKKε, stops the inflammation‑driven insulin resistance, once you block those guys your body starts burning more energy and you lose weight without cutting carbs. I tried 25mg three times a day for three weeks after that article hit my feed.
5cm and i could finish my workout without that usual post‑lift slump. The big question i have is whether the benefits are just the drug or a combo with a low‑carb, higher‑protein diet that the trial didn’t test. Has anyone paired it with a keto or IF routine, what did the side‑effect profile look like, and did the weight loss feel sustainable or just a short‑term glitch?
