Nasal irritation from Selank and how I managed it

I როგორიც started my Selank runs at 250 mcg a spray, 2‑3 times a day. After a couple of weeks the inside of my nose felt like it was on fire – a dry, burning sensation that made me wonder if I was doing something wrong. I did a quick search, found a mention that Selank can cause nasal irritation, and decided to tweak my routine.

First, I started rinsing my nostrils with a normal saline spray before each Selank dose; that seemed to calm the irritation enough that I could keep the original dose. When that didn’t help, I cut the dose in half to 125 mcg per spray, which also cut the burning. I also swapped the nozzle type on the bottle for a finer spray; the gentler atomisation made a big difference.

I’m still fine with the lower dose, and the side‑effect is basically gone. If you’re feeling the same, try saline rinses or a lower dose before you go full on.
