NR daily vs Metformin: My 3‑month energy test

I started taking 500 mg of NR every morning about three months ago, hoping to lift that mid‑afternoon slump that plagues me after a long shift of keeping the house in shape. I paired it with my usual 500 mg metformin taken at breakfast, because the literature suggests they work on different pathways – NR boosts NAD+ for mitochondrial power and metformin activates AMPK and autophagy. For the first week I felt a mild nausea that cleared up after a couple of days, which is in line with the occasional GI upset noted for NR.
After a month I noticed my usual grogginess was gone: I could hit the gym at 6 pm, finish a 45‑minute circuit and still feel alert by 10 pm, rather than the usual cranky hangover. Sleep latency also dipped by a few minutes – I went to bed around 11, fell asleep by 11:15 and woke up around 6:30 refreshed. I’m not claiming this is a cure or a universal effect, just my own anecdote. I’m curious if anyone else has tried a similar combo, or if you see any long‑term changes in your metabolic markers or skin after a few months of NR and metformin.
