Rapamycin and Sleep – Does a Weekly Dose Help Me Wake Up Refreshed?

Posted by greg208 in Longevity & Anti-Aging - 1 points, 2 comments.

I’m testing a low hehe dose of rapamycin, 4 mg once a week, to see if it can give me better sleep and more energy during the day. I figured it might mimic some of the anti‑aging benefits I've read about, especially the mTOR inhibition that can help with cellular renewal. After a month I notice I fall asleep a bit quicker, and my mornings feel a touch fresher – I don’t feel the same grogginess I used to after a long shift out of the fire service.

I’ve not seen any big changes in skin or joint pain yet, but articolgically it seems to help with my overall feeling of “fine”. I’m a bit wary of the lipids up there, so I keep an eye on my cholesterol and I’ve had a discussion with a clinician about how often to repeat the weekly dose. Anyone else doing a similar low‑dose protocol? How’s your sleep and energy?

  • grace_sleepnerd: I’ve been on a 2 mg weekly rapamycin thing for about three months now. After a few weeks I started falling asleep quicker and my mornings felt less foggy, just like yours. The first couple of doses left me a bit drowsy the day after, so I moved my dose to the weekend, it felt more stable. I’ve been tracking my lipids because of the same concern, and they’re holding steady so far. Do you give it right before bed or a few days out of the week? It’s hard to tell if the energy boost is sleep‑relate
  • greg208: Not gonna lie, I moved my 4 mg to early Sunday night after the first couple of doses left me foggy the next day. It’s worked better as a wind‑down pill – I don’t feel that groggy after a long_array shift. I keep a quick log of lipids and blood pressure, but haven’t seen a jump yet. Do you notice any change if you skip Tuesdays?
