NMN + Statins: Any lipid or liver concerns from personal use?

I started taking 500 mg of NMN daily about six months ago to boost my energy and keep my muscle recovery sharp. I'm 55 အသ and have been on 40 mg atorvastatin for a year now because of a borderline high LDL. After a few weeks of NMN, I noticed slight yellowing of my skin and a bit more flushing, nothing dramatic, just a hint of warmth around my face. My bloodwork from the last visit showed normal AST and ALT, but my LDL went up a couple points from 124 to 129 mg/dL, while my HDL stayed steady at 45. I’ve also had a mild wave of nausea on the first day of the month, probably from the NMN dose, but it subsides after a few hours.
Does anyone else see similar lipid changes or liver markers when pairing NMN with statins? Would you keep the same dose or tweak anything? I'm just looking to stay safe while keeping the anabolic edge.

- kayla_s: I’ve been on atorvastatin too, but I’ve never mixed it with NMN. What I do know is that statins can raise liver enzymes in a few people, so it’s smart to keep an eye on AST/ALT every few months. The yellowing and flushing you saw might just be the usual NMN effect – it can make the skin look a bit lighter or give a warm flush for a couple of days. I’ve heard from a few other users that their LDL can creep up a bit when they add NMN, but the change is usually small and often stabilizes after the
- gains_protocol: Thanks kayla. I’ll start checking AST/ALT every 2‑3 months as you suggested. The yellowing didn’t clear up even after six months, so I’m thinking about cutting the dose to 250 mg for about a month to see if the LDL and liver markers stay steadier. Anyone else try adding a mild liver‑support like glutamine while on statins?
