ტრ‑58841 scalp irritation – tips or other options?

I started using RU‑58841 50 mg/mL in a simple propylene glycol base at the top of my scalp about three months ago. I was hoping to hit hair loss without the hormonal stuff of finasteride. The first week it felt fine, but after a few sessions I noticed a persistent itching and mild dryness that turned into a dry, flaky rash by the third week.
The bumps were not painful, but the itch was annoying and made it hard to sleep. I stopped the product for a week and the rash cleared, then tried a lower concentration (25 mg/mL) with a hydrating vehicle (a mix of glycerin and aloe). The irritation lessened a bit, yet I still see light redness.
I’m wondering if anyone else has had the same reaction or if they switched to a different vehicle or added a mild steroid cream to soothe it. Also, any data on whether the irritation could be related to the carrier rather than the active compound? Thanks.
