Oxandrolone and my HDL drop – what I learned

I started a 12‑week course of oxandrolone to help rebuild muscle after a long recovery period. I was on 20 mg per day, split into two doses, and my goal was to keep the anabolic‑to‑androgenic ratio low. After the first month I got my bloodwork done, and the lab report sent back showed a drop in HDL from 55 mg/dL to 42 mg/dL.
I had never seen my HDL forslag that low before. I was a little worried but also curious about the cause, so I pulled up a few articles that mentioned lipid disruption as a known side effect. I decided to add 1000 mg of omega‑3 to my diet, cut the refined carbs, and gave a low‑dose statin a quick thought but decided against it because of my history with liver stress.
I also swapped oxandrolone for a shorter, 6‑week cycle. When I stopped the steroid, my HDL went back up to 50 mg/dL over the next three months. The lesson মাথা that even “safe” peptides can alter your lipid panels and you should keep an eye on bloods and make diet changes to offset the changes.
