Question about Rapamycin and autophagy for a beginner?

I have been reading a bit about mTOR inhibitors and how /peptides/rapamycin is used for longevity and I am really curious if anyone here has tried it? I am totally NEW to this side of things and just trying to get my head around how the pulsing works because the idea of autophagy and cellular recycling sounds DEADLY, but I am a bit worried about the side effects like the mouth sores or if it would mess with my recovery?
I have a biology background so I get the theory but the actual human experience is different and I wonder if it actually makes a difference in how you feel day to day? Does it actually give you more energy or is it more of a long game thing for the biomarkers? I have heard some people mention /peptides/spermidine for similar effects and I am wondering if that is a safer way to start for someone who is just dipping their toes in? If anyone could explain the math on the weekly dosing or if they noticed anything with their skin or sleep, that would be class. Cheers for any help!
