Tendon repair: oral BPC‑157 vs injection? What worked for me?

I had a mild Achilles strain last fall, and i was looking for something that could give me a faster recovery without having to go to the clinic. I started with oral BPC‑157 at 500 mcg twice a day because i read it was easy to take and had some gut‑healing data. The first two weeks i felt less soreness, but the pain in the tendon stayed stubbornly around 6‑7 on the scale.

After talking to a few peers, i switched to the injectable version at 250 mcg once a day. I noticed the swelling drop quickly and after about a week my range of motion was back to what i used to have. I kept the injection for 4 weeks, then tapered to 150 mcg a week while adding a light stretching routine.

I think the key is that the local injection delivers a higher concentration directly to the injured tissue, which the oral form can’t match. I don’t think this is a magic cure, but for me the switch made a measurable difference. Would anyone else say the same or have a different protocol?

I started with 500 mcg orally twice a day, saw the soreness drop but the tendon pain stayed around 6‑7. Switching to 250 mcg injected once daily, I noticed swelling gone within a few days and by the second week my range of motion returned to normal. I also tapered to 150 mcg weekly and did light calf stretches. Did you have any mild side effects from the injection and how did the stretches feel in the last week?
  • labrat600: For what it is worth, i’ve tried a similar switch on a knee sprain. Oral 500 mcg twice daily gave me only mild pain relief, injection 250 mcg once daily seemed to cut swelling faster. I suspect the local dose raises the local concentration, but i still worry about systemic exposure. Did you notice any gut changes after the switch? Also, what about timing of the injection relative to your training sessions? I’m curious if that makes a difference.
