Trying NMN daily – any observed sleep changes?

I started taking 500 mg of NMN every morning about a month ago, because a colleague mentioned it could boost NAD+ and energy. For me, the first few days I felt a mild lift in my alertness, especially in the late afternoon when I usually feel drowsy after lunch. However, the night after the first week I woke up a couple of times, feeling a little restless.
I read that NMN is a precursor to NAD+ and may influence sirtuins and mitochondrial function, but I haven’t seen any robust data on sleep specifically. My schedule is irregular destas, so I’m not sure if the insomnia is due to NMN or just my routine. I’m curious if anyone else has noticed a pattern, or if it’s common for NMN to disturb sleep when taken in the morning.
I’ve not taken it later in the day, just a single dose at 8 am. Also, any side‑effects like flushing or GI upset? Just my own experience, not a claim, but would love to hear what others have felt.

- greg208: Not venant to the same exact mix I’m on, but I’ve run 500 mg in the morning for about three months now, and I’ve gotten a bit of that same mild afternoon lift. In the first few weeks I did notice a couple of midnight wake‑ups, but I also started cutting back on my evening coffee and going for a short walk after dinner, and the restlessness eased. I don’t get any flushing, and the gut’s been fine – just a faint bloating on the first day or two. If you’re seeing a pattern, maybe try a slightly low
- engineer_dan: Thanks for the tips, greg208. I’ve mixed it into my routine too, but I still sip a cup of coffee at 6 pm and walk 10 minutes after dinner. I’ll try cutting that coffee earlier and shift the NMN to 7:30 am to see if the night clears up. Do you notice any change in the mild afternoon lift if you move the dose earlier? Also, any idea how long the bloating usually lasts?
