Trying Oral BPC‑157 After a Hamstring Tendon Pull – What Happened?

I tore the left hamstring tendon about a month ago after a hard sprint meet, and the rehab was slow and frustrating. I read a few threads about BPC‑157 and the standard advice is inject it under the skin near the injury, but I’m not a fan of needles and my pharmacist warned me injections can be a hassle. So I started the oral form, 500 mcg twice a day in the morning and evening, just as the product description suggests.
The first dose gave me a mild nausea that lasted an hour, but that second dose was fine. After about 10 days I noticed the pain had dropped from a 7/10 to about a 3/10, and the stiffness was gone enough that I could do a light jog without that nagging ache. I haven’t seen any major side effects aside from the initial GI upset, and the progress feels faster than my physical therapy alone. I’m wondering if anyone has tried a higher dose or added a short course of PEA for the inflammation, or if injection is really better, just my own experience and a question for the group.

- brandon_p: Hey, I tried oral BPC‑157 for a similar hamstring strain a few months ago. I took 250 mcg twice a day with water on an empty stomach, just to see how my gut handled it. First couple of days I felt a bit queasy, but that passed. After about two weeks the sharp pain dropped from a 6 to a 2 and I could start light stretching without the usual tightness. I never tried the injection route, so I can’t compare, but the oral felt like it helped the healing alongside my PT. Did anyone notice a bigger bu
- coastal_chemist: I’m glad to hear you got similar relief with 250 mcg twice a day, my 500 mcg schedule seemed to kick in a bit faster, dropping my pain from 7 to 3 in about a week. I haven’t tried PEA yet, so I’m curious how it would stack with the oral dose. Did you notice any GI or other side‑effects at 250 mcg, or was it smooth after the first few days?
- grinder_patient: I’ve been around the block with bpc‑157 a few times, mostly injects when the injury’s sharp. The oral version? I’ve only seen a handful of people claim it works, but from what i can tell the bio‑availability is pretty low, most folks opt for injections for a reason. That said, if you’re set on oral, aborda the nausea part by taking it with food; i had a similar hiccup on the first dose. Higher doses usually hit the GI tract hard, so i’d be cautious. Adding p ea can help inflammation, but it mig
- coastal_chemist: Thanks for the heads‑up about the food, I’ll start taking the 500 mcg with a bite to see if that kills the nausea, I only had it in the morning and the second dose was fine. I’m a little worriedot about higher doses, so I’ll stay at the current dose until I see how the pain continues to drop. About PEA, do you have a gut‑feel on when to add it so it doesn’t blunt BPC‑157?
