Harmaline low dose – nausea and food caution I noticed

Posted by brandon_p in Safety & Side Effects - 1 points, 0 comments.

I tried a small amount of Harmaline (around 5 mg) a couple of weeks ago just to see how it felt, mostly out of curiosity after reading about its MAO‑A action. For me the effect was pretty mild – a bit of calm and slight drowsiness – but I noticed strong nausea a couple of hours after I took it, especially when I had eaten some aged cheese and cured sausage earlier that day. I know Harmaline can inhibit MAO‑A and that mixing it with tyramine rich foods can be risky, but I didn’t expect the stomach upset to hit that fast.

Has anyone else felt similar gut discomfort with low doses, or found a safe way to time meals around it? I’m not saying it’s dangerous for everyone, just sharing what seemed to happen in my case and wondering if others have tips to reduce the nausea or avoid interactions.
