Noticed higher hematocrit after a few weeks of low‑dose Test Cyp – any similar experience?

Hey folks, I started a low‑dose testosterone cypionate regimen about six weeks ago, aiming for around 100 mg split twice weekly just to feel a bit more energetic during my writing days. After the first blood test I saw my hematocrit creep up from the usual 42% to 48%, which made me pause. I also noticed a bit more oily skin and occasional mild acne on my back, nothing severe but definitely a change.

Injection site soreness was there the first couple of days but settled after I switched to a smaller needle and rotated spots more carefully. Has anyone else seen a similar rise in hematocrit with low‑dose Test Cyp? What do you do to keep it in check – donate blood, adjust dose, or add something like an aromatase inhibitor? I’m planning to repeat labs in another month and would love to hear what worked for you, especially any simple harm‑reduction tricks you’ve picked up.

  • sleep_coastal: I’ve seen the same jump myself after about 6‑8 weeks of about 100 mg/T. My hematocrit hit 49% before I cut the dose by 10‑15 % and started measuring daily. I also do a yearly blood donation before the cycle starts, that helps keep it in line. I’ve tried low‑dose aromatase inhibitors, but only after checking estradiol sable. Stay hydrated, keep an eye on iron, and don’t forget a repeat panel in a month. Don’t forget to talk to a doc before changing anything big.
