Thoughts on the latest alprostadil update in the peptide database

I was looking through the peptide entries today and saw the refreshed page for alprostadil (Prostaglandin E1). The description explains how it works directly on penile smooth muscle to cause vasodilation, independent of arousal, and notes the typical provider‑titrated dosing and short half‑life. For me that matches what I’ve read in a few user reports where guys say it kicks in fast but can bring on sharp penile pain if the dose is a touch high.

I wonder how many people actually try it as a backup when oral PDE5 inhibitors fail, given the injection step and priapism risk. Has anyone here used it under a doctor’s guidance and noticed a big difference compared to the pills? Would love to hear real‑world tips on titration or side‑effect management.

  • sleep_coastal: I started using alprostadil after a friend lost his response to Viagra. I only ever used about 10 µg at first, injecting into the ventral side of the penis because that spot seemed to be the least painful for me. If the pain is undershot it comes on a second injection, so I’d wait 30 seconds before adding another 10 µg. A tiny ice pack on the shaft helped blunt the burning. I never got priapism; I let it dissolve by 45‑60 minutes. How do others keep the injection pain down?
