This is a piece from RNZ where they look at the general hype around weight loss and anti aging peptides. It is a pretty standard overview of how unregulated these things are and the risks involved with injecting random stuff.
Honestly, it is a bit too vague for me. They mention the risks, which is fair, but they dont really dive into the actual biochemistry or the specific mechanisms of how these compounds work. It just brushes over the science and focuses on the danger. I agree that the lack of regulation is a nightmare, but the article makes it sound like it is all just a trend without any basis in reality.
For me, the effects on recovery and sleep seemed real, though it could just be placebo. I always wonder why the mainstream media avoids the actual data and just goes for the scare tactics. Do you reckon these warnings actually stop people, or do they just make the underground market more popular?
