trying low‑dose rapamycin – any tips on timing and side effects?

ngl i’ve been reading up on rapamycin a lot lately after a chat with a longevity clinic. they suggested a 4 mg weekly pulse to mimic caloric restriction and give the immune system a bit of a boost. i’ve never tried it before, so i’m basically a rookie here and hoping some of you can share what worked for you.
i’m planning to take the dose on a Sunday night after dinner, because my schedule is pretty regular and i can monitor any gut upset over the weekend. i’ve heard about mouth sores and a slight rise in lipids, but i’m not sure how common that is at a low dose. also, does anyone know if it really impacts wound healing – i’m due for a minor knee physio in a few weeks and wouldn’t want it to slow recovery.
any personal anecdotes on how you felt the week after dosing, and any tweaks you made to diet or supplements to offset side effects would be brill.

- brooke_h: I reckon 4mg is a pretty standard starting point, but honestly, I'm always skeptical of the "immune boost" claim. Most of the data I've seen suggests it might actually suppress certain immune responses, so that's a bit of a contradiction right there. Got a link to the specific study the clinic mentioned? Anecdotally, I didn't notice much on a low dose, but I did feel a bit more sluggish the next day. As for the knee thing, you should definitely chat with your doctor about the timing. I've read
- sanjay_swims: cheers for the heads up on the immune stuff. ngl i didnt really dig into the studies myself and just took the clinics word for it. i'll have to ask them for the link because that contradiction sounds a bit dodgy. the sluggishness you mentioned is what i'm worried about. i'm keen to see if that happens to me. do you reckon the fatigue lasts the whole day or just a few hours after the dose?
