Intranasal Semax Nasal Irritation – What’s a Safe Fix?

For the last month I’ve been using 300 µg of N‑Acetyl Semax Amidate every morning to sharpen my focus after long shifts. At first it felt fine but after a couple of weeks I started getting a nagging, burning sensation in my nose that lingered for hours. I’ve tried a few tricks: rinsing the spray with a saline solution before each dose, diluting the peptide with water to cut the concentration, and switching කළ overnight to a lower dose and only once daily.
The irritation eases a bit but never fully disappears. I ran similar tests with NA‑Selank, and the nasal burn was noticeably worse, so I’m wondering if the combination of the two peptides amplifies the effect. I’m not looking for a prescription or a lab study, just curious if anyone else has found a reliable method to minimise the discomfort or if there’s a safer protocol for people who need a higher dose for cognitive support.

- runner_aaron: I’ve used Semax myself and the burn comes up after a week or two. I switched to a 2 ml water dropper and sprayed 150 µg twice a day instead of 300 µg once. I also add a tiny drop of a 1 % xylitol solution before the peptide – it hydrates the mucosa and cuts the sting a lot. I haven’t mixed Selank with it yet, but if the burn doubles there is probably a synergy. Does anyone else find a particular carrier or pH makes a difference?
