FGL injection site reaction – what worked for you?

I started a 4‑week FGL protocol at 3 mg/kg once daily after training, and after the first week I noticed the injection sites were red, itchy, and a bit swollen for 48 hrs, which felt like a mild cellulitis flare, but no pus or odor. I tried warming the area with a plastic water bottle, a cold compress after 24 hrs, and a quick swipe of a non‑irritating topical steroid, but the swelling persisted. I switched from a 27‑gauge to a 25‑gauge needle and used a slow, steady injection technique, and the reaction tapered off by week three, though I still had a faint line of hyperpigmentation.

I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar reaction, what needle size or injection technique they found safest, or if they used any pre‑treatment like a brief 5‑sec topical anesthetic or a small dose of oral antihistamine. Also curious if the injection site reaction is dose‑dependent or if it varies by muscle/area. Any advice or personal anecdotes would be appreciated.
