PE 22-28 preprint shows fast antidepressant-like effects in mice – thoughts?

I was scrolling through the PE 22-28 entry on the site and saw they linked to a recent preprint where the peptide blocked the TREK-1 potassium channel and produced antidepressant-like behavior in mice way faster than typical SSRIs. It got me thinking about how fast-acting mood tools could fit into a biohacker’s stack, especially for those off‑days when motivation dips. For me, any claim about rapid antidepressant effects makes me cautious because the human data is still basically nonexistent and the safety profile is unknown.

I’ve tried a few nootropic peptides before and noticed subtle shifts in focus but nothing dramatic, so I’m wary of expecting a miracle mood lift from something this early in research. Still, the mechanism, boosting serotonergic signaling and synaptogenesis, sounds promising on paper. What do you all think? Is this worth keeping an eye on for future human trials, or should we file it under “interesting but too early”?
