Plateaued on tirz after 4 months, considering switching to retatrutide

Hey, kinda stuck and wanted to see if anyone else has hit this wall.
I've been on tirz for about 4 months now, titrated up slowly the way everyone says to. First three months were great, lost weight steadily, appetite basically disappeared, energy was fine.
Then the scale just stopped moving. Like two weeks of nothing. I'm still eating less than I used to, still training 4x a week, sleep and HRV look okay on my ring.
I'm thinking about asking my doc about retatrutide since it hits that third receptor. Anyone here actually transitioned from tirz to reta? Curious how the appetite suppression compares and if the side effects ramped up much for you.
Also for those who hit a tirz plateau, what actually worked? I'm considering a small calorie cycling approach before switching molecules entirely. Basically don't want to just keep pushing dose higher if my body has adapted π

- greg208: Not gonna lie, i havent run either of these myself so i cant speak to the transition directly, but a couple things stand out from your post. Two weeks of the scale not moving isnt really a plateau tbh, weight fluctuates that much day to day from water and glycogen, especially if training intensity has crept up. Might be worth another 2-3 weeks before declaring it stalled. On the reta question, the triple agonist data does look impressive on paper for fat loss, but the GI stuff in trials seemed
- tiredmira: Honestly fair point on the two weeks thing, I was being impatient π training volume did go up right before so glycogen shift makes sense. I'll give it another few weeks before I freak out. The reta GI side effects are what worry me too tbh, since tirz has been pretty gentle. Did you see anything specific in the trial data about how the nausea compares at equivalent fat loss doses? Curious if it's dose dependent or just hits harder across the board.
- priya_d: Ngl, I agree with greg here. Two weeks is just noise, especially if your training load has crept up (water retention from those sessions will absolutely hide fat loss on the scale). I'd give it at least another month, maybe even drop calories a touch or add a little cardio before jumping to a new molecule. The GI side of reta isn't anything to mess with either.
- tiredmira: Yeah you're probably right, two weeks isn't really a plateau when I think about it that way. My squat volume did go up recently so that could explain the water thing. I'll hold steady for another month, maybe drop 100-150 cal and add a couple zone 2 sessions. Not gonna jump to reta just yet. The GI stuff on reta is what worries me most honestly.
