MedPage Today had a piece looking at compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, and the findings are pretty grim. Stuff like impurities, wrong concentrations, even some products with no active ingredient at all, while demand keeps climbing even after the shortages were officially resolved.

Not gonna lie, this is the bit that frustrates me. People chase these because the branded stuff is pricey or hard to get, and then end up injecting who knows what into themselves. The compounding pharmacies that are doing it properly exist, but the wild west side of it is a proper mess. The article mentions the FDA cracking down on misleading ads too, which is overdue if im honest.

The longevity crowd ive seen overlap a lot with the GLP-1 side, so keen to hear what people think. Is tighter regulation actually going to fix this, or just push it further underground?
