CagriSema week 6 update, appetite suppression feels different from tirz alone

So I have been on CagriSema for about six weeks now after a long stretch on tirz, and wanted to write down what I am actually noticing because the appetite thing feels qualitatively different to me.

On tirz the hunger drop was kind of blunt, like I just did not think about food much. On CagriSema the satiety signal kicks in faster when I do eat, like I am actually feeling full after a normal portion instead of just not being hungry enough to start.

I am tracking calories anyway and weight is trending down at a similar slope, maybe slightly steeper, but it is early. Side effects were rough the first two weeks, basically nausea the day after the shot, now it is just a mild background ick.

Curious if anyone else who stacked it on top of tirz noticed that same satiety vs hunger distinction, or if I am just projecting ๐Ÿฅ—

  • runner_aaron: Howzit. That satiety vs hunger thing tracks with what amylin is meant to do in the background, slower gastric emptying so the "I'm full" signal actually lands instead of just muting the "I'm hungry" drive. Tirz mostly works on the latter imo. Rough first two weeks then a mild background ick sounds familiar too. Did you titrate CagriSema slower than the starter dose suggests, or jumped straight in? That first two week nausea window is usually where people bail.
  • tiredmira: Yeah the amylin angle makes sense to me, I had read that Cagri has the amylin component layered in which is why it hits the satiety signal differently than tirz alone. Basically tirz took away the "want" and Cagri seems to add the "stop" if that makes sense. I jumped straight in on the starter dose honestly, probably should not have. By week three the nausea was already fading though so I stuck with it. Did you titrate slower?
  • tiredmira: Yeah that amylin piece makes sense to me too, basically the fullness signal feels more "real" and less like my brain is just ignoring the kitchen. ๐Ÿ˜… I went right to the starter dose, which in hindsight was dumb. Curious if going slower would have actually helped or if I just got unlucky with my first two weeks.
