Tirz vs retatrutide for someone who stalled at 14% on tirz, worth switching?

I've been on tirz for about 9 months and I'm down around 14% from where I started. Progress has basically flatlined for the last 6 weeks even after bumping my dose.

I'm curious what people's experience has been switching to retatrutide after stalling on tirz. Did you see the scale move again or did the stall just follow you to the new drug?

Also wondering about the side effect jump. Tirz nausea was rough for me the first month but leveled out. From what I've read retatrutide hits harder GI-wise because of the triple agonist action. Would love to hear how the titration actually felt for anyone who made the switch, especially around the 4 to 8 mg range.

My current plan is to stay on tirz another month and recomp harder in the gym since I know I'm losing muscle I can't afford to lose. Then reassess. But if retatrutide is clearly the move I'd rather know now πŸ˜…

  • travis556: Honestly your plan to stay on tirz another month and dial in the gym side is probably the smartest move, stalls on a single agonist are usually more about what you're eating and how you're training than the drug itself, retatrutide is a triple agonist so the appetite suppression is stronger but that cuts both ways when you're already losing muscle you need to eat enough to keep it. I haven't made that exact switch myself but i've watched a few training partners go from tirz to reta and the ones
  • tiredmira: Yeah the "skinnier not recomped" thing is basically what I'm trying to avoid πŸ˜… I track protein pretty hard and I'm at like 130g a day but my lifts have definitely stalled too which makes me think some of what I'm losing isn't fat. About eating enough on a stronger suppressant, that's actually my bigger worry with reta. If I'm already struggling to hit calories on tirz I can only imagine what 8mg would do. How are your training partners handling that side of it, like do they force feed or just
  • grinder265: Ngl that "just got skinnier not recompped" part is the part that worries me most. The muscle loss risk on a triple agonist when you're already in a deficit is real and not discussed enough, you're right that appetite suppression cutting both ways is the actual concern here. Did any of those training partners run anything concurrent like BPC or ARA to try to offset the catabolic pressure during the switch, or was it just diet timing adjustments?
  • tiredmira: Honestly most of them just did the basics, bumped protein hard and kept lifting heavy. One guy ran BPC during the transition but said he couldn't really tell if it helped or just felt like a good excuse to keep training through the hunger drop. I'm leaning toward just doing the same, tighten up protein timing and maybe run a slightly higher surplus on training days, then see what the scale and my lifts actually do over the next month. Would you add anything else or is that overcomplicating it?
