Heart rate jump on retatrutide, anyone else tracking this?

So I started retatrutide a few weeks back, came up really slow on the dose like the profile suggests, and the appetite suppression has been honestly kind of wild, way more than I expected. But the thing I keep noticing is my resting heart rate sitting 8 to 12 bpm higher than my baseline and I am not a stranger to weird heart rate stuff from endurance training so it is not anxiety scaring me, I can actually see it on my watch day after day. I read that heart rate increase is listed as a side effect on the retatrutide page but it is a pretty thin paragraph compared to the GI stuff and I am wondering how real that is in practice.

Has anyone else here logged resting HR before and during their ramp? Curious if it kept climbing as the dose went up or if it leveled off once they held steady. And for those who pushed past a certain mg, did you ever feel like it crossed into "talk to a doctor" territory, like palpitations or exercise intolerance, or was it mostly just a number on a screen.

  • quiet_ironman: Yeah I tracked mine pretty closely because I've worn a chest strap for years, and my resting HR climbed around 6 to 10 bpm by the time I held a mid range dose, then kind of plateaued for me rather than kept creeping up. It felt like my body just settled into a new normal after a few weeks at the same mg. The "number on a screen vs actually feels wrong" thing was real for me too. I never got palpitations but my easy Zone 2 rides started feeling like actual work at the same HR I used to cruise at
  • tinkerer792: Appreciate you laying out the numbers, that plateau point is kind of what I'm hoping for since I've still got a couple of dose steps left to go. The Zone 2 thing you mentioned is interesting though because mine feels the same right now and I keep second guessing whether to back off the easy days or just trust the watch. Did your chest strap numbers line up with what your watch was showing, or did you find one was more useful than the other for catching the drift?
  • weekendnate: The plateau part matches what I saw too. Mine held steady once I sat at the same dose for about three weeks, no further creep. The Zone 2 thing is a good callout, same HR but more perceived effort is exactly how I'd describe my easy walks lately.
