Selank making me sleepy or is it just me...

Ok so i keep seeing people rave about Selank for clarity and calm focus and i just do not get the same thing. I have tried it a few different ways, nasal mostly, and within like 20 minutes i am fighting to keep my eyes open at my desk. Not anxious, not wired, just... Wiped out. Which is the opposite of what i was going for lol.
For what it is worth i seem to do better on days i skip it and just use Semax intranasal. Semax gives me a clean sort of tunnel vision for getting through paperwork at the lab. Selank just puts me down for a nap.
Is this a dosing thing, a me thing, or does anyone else get this from the GABA angle? Curious if it levels out after a few weeks or if i am just not a Selank person and should stop pretending...

- formermiles: Not gonna lie, the sleepy thing on Selank is pretty common from what i have seen people post, you are definitely not alone in that. It does hit GABA signaling in a way that can swing sedative for some folks, especially intranasal where absorption is kinda all over the place honestly. I had a similar weird reaction early on, like foggy and done by mid afternoon, so i dropped the dose way down and tried it on weekends first to see if it was actually the peptide or just me being tired anyway. - retired_coldplunge: Yeah the GABA piece tracks, I had not thought about that angle. Fwiw the weekend test idea is smart, I just kept pushing through weekdays and assumed I was broken. Might give the lower dose a shot on a Saturday first.
- curious_optimizer: Ha, ok so the weekend test plan is exactly the move, and for what it is worth i did try a half dose once and it still knocked me sideways, just less. Like the fog was there, just dialed back a notch. Curious if the same happens for you or if lower actually clears it up for some folks...
- curious_optimizer: Ha ok that is reassuring honestly, i was starting to think my brain just does not like it. The HRV thing is interesting, i have not been tracking mine but that lines up with how it feels... Like my body is just down for the count. I will mess around with cutting the dose down and maybe try it on a saturday when it does not matter if i nap at my desk for an hour lol. Thanks for that, for what it is worth you saved me from another round of "maybe this time selank will work" which i have done like
