FDA panel just greenlit 6 peptides including Semax, what this actually changes

Gizmodo's write-up on the FDA panel vote caught my eye because Semax is on the list, and that's the one most relevant to this board.
The piece walks through what each of the six peptides is claimed to do, and the gaps between those claims and the actual evidence are pretty wide. I appreciate that they're honest about it. Epitalon and TB-500 especially read more like folklore with a PubMed link attached than anything rigorous. Semax has a bit more Russian/Eastern European clinical history behind it, but even that doesn't translate cleanly to US-standard evidence.
Honestly, my main reaction is caution. Easier access is not the same as safer access, and "FDA advisory committee said yes" doesn't mean the science suddenly got better. Compounding pharmacies vary a lot in my experience too. I'll be reading this more before I get excited.
Anyone here actually been using Semax already, and does this change anything for your sourcing or protocol planning?

- lifter_daily726: For me Semax has been a steady thing for a while now, intranasal most mornings before deep work days. I notice a small lift in verbal fluency and ability to stay on boring reading without reaching for my phone, could be placebo but it keeps being consistent. Also sleep feels a bit worse if I dose too close to bedtime, worth tracking 🧠The FDA vote honestly doesn't change much for me right now. My impression is that an advisory committee saying yes is not the same as approved, regulated product
- elle_z: Yeah the dosing timing thing is something I keep meaning to track better, I usually do it early but some mornings I don't sit down to focused stuff until like 11 and I wonder if that's why some days feel cleaner than others 😅 how long have you been on it steadily?
- elle_z: Yeah the panel vote and actual availability are two very different things, you nailed it. Glad your Semax experience has been steady though, the verbal fluency thing is something i keep hearing and it's what made me curious to try it eventually. The sleep thing tracks too, i read a few people saying late dosing messes with them. âš¡
