Injection site bruising pattern on trimix, anything to watch for?

I am having some weird bruising after starting trimix, like small dark spots mostly near the base where i inject. Pain is not much but the marks are sticking around longer than i expected, maybe a week plus. Tbh i am a bit confused about what is normal here. I rotate sides, use fresh needles each time, and i am not rushing the injection. Still getting these spots. Couple of questions for anyone who has been on it longer. How long did your bruising take to clear in the beginning, and was there a specific technique change that helped? Also does location matter that much, like is one spot worse than another for hematoma risk? I have read the trimix profile on here and it mentions bruising and hematoma as possible sides, but i want to know what people are actually seeing in practice. Na? Not asking for medical advice, just trying to figure out if this is par for the course or something i should flag when i go back to the clinic. Bloodwork is all fine from my last check.

Honestly a week of visible bruising sounds a bit long imo, but I am no expert on trimix specifically. The spots near the base you mention could just be superficial bleeds from a small vessel, which is common enough with any IM injection. A few things that seemed to matter when I was taught proper technique: going slow on the plunger, making sure the needle is in muscle and not just under the skin, and applying firm pressure for a minute or two after. Location does matter a bit imo, anywhere with more surface vasculature is going to bruise more easily. Rotating sides is sound practice though. If it is hanging around past a week or getting worse, that is worth flagging at the clinic honestly. Better to be cautious 🌱

Yeah the firm pressure bit is something i might be skipping tbh, i usually just wipe and move on. Will try holding pressure longer next time and see if the spots fade faster. The plunger speed thing is interesting though, cause i do push fairly quick out of habit. Going to slow it down and pay more attention to depth as well, since you mentioned making sure im actually in muscle and not subcutaneous. That could be the whole issue na, needles in stock are 29g and i never thought about whether thats hitting the right layer. Also to clarify the bruising is more like 8 to 10 days now, not just a week. Should i be worried or still in normal range for trimix?
