FDA peptide panel has industry ties, AP flags the conflict

AP just dropped a piece on the FDA's peptide panel noting that several doctors involved have ties to companies selling peptide formulas. That detail matters a lot to me. If people shaping the 503A list stand to profit from the substances on that list, the whole "evidence-based" framing kind of falls apart?

I've been sitting with the FDA news for weeks and honestly I'm more skeptical than excited. Loosening access without solid trial data feels backwards to me. We'd want safety data FIRST, not after compounding expands and things go sideways. The Stanford piece from a few days ago basically said the same thing, most popular peptides out there have no real human trials behind them.

Anyone else feel like this is being rushed for political reasons more than science ones? Curious how people here are weighing the risk of a bad outcome against the upside of easier access?
