Boston Magazine has a piece up called "The Longevity Trap" that basically asks whether all this biohacking stuff is doing more harm than good. It walks through how chasing optimal biomarkers and supplement stacks can lead people down some pretty rabbit-hole paths, and how the "wellness" crowd has turned healthy habits into a kind of obsession.
Honestly I thought it was a fair read, even if parts felt a little preachy. The part about people running dozens of blood markers and then panicking over every tiny blip, that hit home for me. I used to spiral on lab results too until I realized half the stuff I was "fixing" was just noise. I do think there's a real conversation here about where the line is between optimization and anxiety, because it can quietly tip the wrong way.
Has anyone else felt that pull, like the more you track the worse you feel?
