This is a systematic review covering BPC-157 studies in orthopaedic sports medicine from 1993 through 2024. It walks through animal models for muscle, tendon, ligament, and bone healing, plus the small handful of human reports that exist. Good breakdown of the mechanisms people talk about, like growth factor upregulation and inflammation reduction.

My take is that it confirms what most of us already suspected. The animal data is genuinely promising, but the human evidence is still tiny and mostly case series. Anecdotally, I hear a lot of people swear by it for tendon and gut stuff, and that lines up with the proposed pathways, but we are still leaning hard on rodent work and personal reports. The article does not really address the cancer signaling concern that keeps coming up, which I think is a noticeable gap.

Has anyone here tried pairing it with actual loading rehab, like did you notice a difference with or without structured physical therapy alongside it?

  • val_labrat: Yeah this is the exact tension with it. Tendinopathy rehab works without the peptide, and the loading is the unsexy part nobody wants to skip (myself included some days). The safety piece is what I keep circling back to. Short term signals look fine in my own bloodwork, but "looks fine for a few months" is not the same as "safe." Hard to argue with that on the angiogenesis angle either.
