Oral BPC arginate vs injectable for achilles tendon, worth the swap mid-cycle?

Ngl im about 6 weeks into an achilles rehab cycle running the standard injectable BPC protocol and im genuinely on the fence about switching to the oral arginate salt version for the back half.

Injectable BPC has been solid, the tendon pain that was sidelining me at month 2 is down to background noise when im warming up. I still get stiffness first thing in the morning but it clears in like 10 minutes instead of an hour. Calf raises are back to bodyweight pain free and im slowly rebuilding eccentric loading.

Heres what im weighing. The oral arginate formulation says gut and systemic healing with the convenience of no pinning twice a day. For a tendon thats deep and not gut related, im not convinced the oral route actually gets enough to the tissue where i need it. Short half life, lower bioavailability, all that.

But ive also seen people say oral stacks fine for tendinopathy once the acute phase is past. Anyone here actually run oral BPC for a tendon issue specifically, not gut stuff? Curious if the back half of a cycle is where oral can carry the load or if i should just finish strong on injectable and call it.

  • jenna_t: I did the injectable for my patellar tendon and switched to oral arginate around week 5 for convenience, no other reason. Could just be placebo but it felt like the morning stiffness creeped back a little, nothing dramatic. Didnt last, just noticeable. I ended up going back to injectable to finish because why mess with what was working... Honestly id say if youre seeing real progress at 6 weeks, finishing on injectable is the safer bet.

The morning stiffness thing is interesting tho, bc im still dealing with that a little on injectable so i wouldnt even be able to tell if oral made it worse or if it was just the natural ebb of tendon healing. Im gonna finish the cycle on pins and revisit oral arginate later when im not chasing a specific rehab goal. Appreciate the real world
