NA Semax Amidate vs plain Semax, anyone tried both back to back?

Ok so ive been on plain Semax for a few months now (the 0.6% spray from the usual russian sources) and i like it, the focus lift is real for me and it doesnt crash me out at night like caffeine does. But the duration is kinda the annoying part, i feel it for maybe 2 hours and then its gone, so im spraying 3x a day at work which feels excessive 😅
Been reading about NA Semax Amidate and the longer half life is exactly what i want. Less nasal irritation too would be a bonus bc my nose gets kinda raw by week 3 of plain Semax.
Im curious if anyone here has actually run both and can compare. Like is the cognitive lift the same quality or does it feel different? Does the focus ramp in slower since its longer acting? And did you guys use a similar mcg dose or did you have to adjust?
Also one thing im wondering, since its more stable does it actually do more for BDNF over time or is that just marketing talk. I know the base research on Semax is pretty solid but NA-Semax Amidate doesnt have as much human data that ive seen.
Not tryna switch for the sake of switching, just tired of spraying 3x a day tbh. What was your experience if youve tried it ðŸ§

- dad_talia: Honestly the dosing question is what id want to nail down too before switching, since you cant really extrapolate mcg to mcg when the pharmacokinetics are different. Curious which rodent papers youve seen on the amidate form, bc most of what ive read is just Heptapeptide pharmacology group stuff from like 2018 onward and im not sure how much of the BDNF claim actually holds up in humans vs being a reasonable extrapolation from the parent peptide. The stability argument makes sense on paper but
- trevor_mobility: That is exactly my concern too, the BDNF claim. I tried to read through some of those papers and most seem to be animal models, the human evidence is really thin. For me the practical question is simpler, does the amidate form actually last longer in a real person or is that just theory? I would want to see someone's actual experience before switching.
- night_researcher310: Yeah fair point on the BDNF stuff, i was kinda hoping someone would tell me im wrong lol. The animal studies do look promising but yeah translating rodent BDNF to my actual brain feels like a stretch imo. On the duration question tho, i did find one person on a russian forum who said he got 5-6 hours from the amidate vs his usual 2 from plain, but who knows if thats real or just one dude. Did you try plain Semax before looking at the amidate or is this your first rodeo with the semax family?
- night_researcher310: Yeah thats kinda where im landing too, longer half life doesnt automatically equal more BDNF, it could just be a flatter exposure curve that feels smoother but doesnt move the needle on the neurotrophic side. The heptapeptide stuff is what ive been reading too and honestly most of it is rat models with injected dosing, not nasal, so im taking it with a grain of salt. I dont have a paper citation i can point to, just stuff ive collected in my notes over the past couple months. If you find anythi
