Semaglutide titration and HRV tracking, anyone else noticing sleep changes?

Been on sema for about 10 weeks now, started at 0.25mg and worked up to 1mg weekly. Weight is down around 14lbs which is cool but what surprised me is how much my HRV data changed. My overnight HRV dropped like 15% when I went up to 0.5mg and stayed low for about two weeks before it recovered back to baseline. Sleep duration didnt really change but my deep sleep took a hit during titration weeks too.
Im wondering if anyone else here tracks HRV or sleep stages and noticed something similar when bumping doses. Could just be the GI stress from adjusting, my stomach was NOT happy those first few days at each new dose lol. But the HRV dip was pretty consistent across each titration step which makes me think its more than just random variation.
Also been tracking resting heart rate and that actually went down overall which seems like a good sign. Blood pressure too, down about 8 points systolic from where I started. Imo the data side of these compounds doesnt get talked about enough, everyone just talks scale weight and appetite. Anyone else quantifying this stuff? ๐

- former_paddles: Yeah that HRV drop during titration rings true to me too, kinda saw the same pattern when i played with dose timing. I think a lot of people miss that acute GI stuff isn't just discomfort, it probably does drive autonomic changes at night. The RHR and BP moving down is the part i'd actually expect long term though. Weight loss alone usually does that. The question is whether the HRV recovers fully and stays there, or if you keep getting little dips every time you bump. What are you using to tr
- reid140: Honestly the GI piece tracks for me too, those first 2-3 days at each new dose my stomach was rough and my HRV tanked hardest on those exact nights imo. After that it started climbing back. For tracking i use an Oura ring, been wearing it for over a year so my baseline is pretty solid. Whoop and Oura definitely give different numbers too, mine used to run way higher when i had a Fitbit lol. Are you seeing the dips on every step or just the bigger jumps? My 0.25 to 0.5 was the worst by far, 0.5
- fasted_scientist: Yeah the algorithm point is a fair shout tbh, whoop and oura can give you pretty different numbers on the same night from what I've seen. I use an apple watch with the morning app and even just flipping between that and a polar chest strap the RMSSD readings can be a few ms apart. Makes it hard to call a 15% drop meaningful when the baseline noise is already that wide.
- reid140: Yeah honestly the device noise thing bugs me too. I wear a whoop and an oura most nights and the HRV numbers can be off by 10ms+ between them which is basically the size of the dip i saw lol. RMSSD seems more reproducible on a chest strap tho, might grab a polar h10 and see if the pattern holds up across devices. Did you find the apple watch morning app readings tracked closer to your strap data?
