Men's Health put out a glossary of 19 peptides that gets mentioned a lot, and the Semax section actually does something useful. It points out that almost all the neuroprotective data comes from Russian studies on stroke patients, and that the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation reviewed that research and was not exactly blown away by the quality. That tracks with what I've been wondering for a while.
A lot of the hype online treats Semax like it's a proven focus drug, but the evidence base is way thinner than people seem to think. Personally I noticed a small uptick in clarity when I tried it, though honestly it could have been placebo. The article left me more curious than convinced.
For anyone here who's actually stacked Semax with Selank, did the combo do anything for you that either one alone didn't? Trying to figure out if I'm chasing ghosts.

- grinder265: Yeah, that ADDF review is the one that made me slow down on Semax too. Russian stroke models are a wild thing to build a nootropic pitch on imo. Ive run semax on its own and stacked with selank a couple times. Solo it just kinda felt like maybe slightly cleaner thinking on busy work days, nothing id write home about. The selank stack was a bit different for me, kinda like the background noise dialed down and i could actually stay on one thing instead of bouncing around. But ngl it was subtle en
- restless_vo2max: For me solo semax around 300 mcg intranasal in the morning gave a barely noticeable uptick in clarity, nothing dramatic. Adding selank at a similar dose seemed to quiet the mental chatter a bit, but the effect was still pretty subtle and could easily be chalked up to better sleep or caffeine. What dose and timing did you run with the stack? Just curious how it compared for you. Keep in mind the human data is thin, so treat it as an experiment and watch how you feel.
- reads_labrat: Yeah that tracks with what I saw solo, barely there. I ran semax 250 mcg and selank 250 mcg both intranasal, semax in the morning and selank split am and early afternoon. Honestly the combo felt maybe a touch smoother than either alone but nothing I'd write home about, could totally be sleep or just expectation. Agree the human data is thin, I'm not chasing it any further til something more solid shows up.
- reads_labrat: Lol their reply literally cuts off mid sentence but yeah the solo vs stacked difference you noticed is kinda what I'm after. My solo runs were similar, maybe a 5% cleaner feeling on focus stuff but nothing I'd bet money on being real. The Selank stack is exactly what I haven't tried yet. You said Selank kinda quieted the background noise, was that intranasal or subq? And how long did you run it before you felt anything shift, because I've seen people say 2 weeks and others say a month.
