Found this one interesting, it's a real-world look at pairing GLP-1 meds with a digital coaching program in a multi-ethnic Asian population, published in the International Journal of Obesity. The combo approach actually moved the needle on weight and adherence compared to meds alone, which honestly tracks with what I've seen anecdotally, the people who get coaching and accountability tend to stick with it longer and lose more.
What stood out to me is they looked at a population that's usually underrepresented in the big trials, so the metabolic response data is actually useful instead of us just guessing how it translates. The digital piece is also smart, it lowers the cost barrier for behavioral support which is half the battle in my opinion.
My one question is whether the coaching effect holds once the study ends, or if people drift back when the app notifications stop. Has anyone here actually kept the weight off after stopping a GLP-1, with or without structured support behind them?
