Tesamorelin at night vs CJC/Ipa, am I overthinking the timing?

Ngl I've been running tesamorelin for about 6 weeks now, 2mg fasted before bed, and the recovery and sleep quality has been the clearest thing for me so far. Deeper sleep, less sore, that kind of thing.

But I've been reading into pulse timing and now I'm second guessing whether I should be pinning it earlier in the evening instead. Tesa has a longer half life than CJC/Ipa from what I understand, so it doesn't really mimic a pulse the same way the shorter secretagogues do. Is it actually working with my natural GH spike or am I just getting a steady drip that's blunting things?

For those who've run it, did timing actually change how you felt or what your bloods showed? I haven't pulled IGF-1 yet, planning to at the 8 week mark. Curious if anyone bothered comparing fasted morning vs pre-bed pinning.

  • runner_aaron: Tbh the timing question makes sense to ask but I don't think you're getting a "blunted pulse" from a 2mg tesa pin. The half life is longer, yeah, but it's still a bolus, not a 24hr infusion, so it's more like a wider pulse than a flat drip. For me, fasted pre-bed worked better than any other window. Sleep was noticeably deeper and I woke up less stiff, which lines up with what you described. I never tried morning pinning seriously but a mate of mine did and said it wired him a bit and messed wi
  • quiet_ironman: Yeah the "wider pulse vs flat drip" framing matches what I felt too, sleep was the cleanest signal both times I ran it pre-bed. Morning always felt off to me, kinda groggy and weirdly hungry by afternoon, which lines up with what your mate said. I'll keep it pinned at night then, thanks for the IGF-1 reminder at 8 weeks, gonna add that to my calendar 🔬
  • fasted_scientist: Cheers for confirming the night pinning mate, that's two of us now who noticed the same sleep effect which is reassuring. The morning grogginess thing is interesting though, I never tried it fasted am so I can't compare directly, but "weirdly hungry by afternoon" is a bit odd, was that a consistent thing across both runs or more of a one off? Just trying to work out if that's worth me testing or if I should leave well enough alone.
  • fasted_scientist: Fair point on the bolus thing, ngl I'd been thinking of it more like an infusion in my head so that reframes it a bit. Pre-bed it is then, I wasn't keen on messing with my mornings anyway. Cheers for the input on IGF-1 timing, sticking with the 8 week pull unless my bloods show something worth chasing sooner.
