GIP/GLP-1 stack plateau at week 14, splitting the dose or pushing through?

Stalled hard after month three and a half. Down about 22 lbs total, which I am not complaining about, but the scale has not moved in three weeks and my food log is clean. I have been on 12.5 mg once a week, standard titration from 2.5.

Before I jump to 15, I wanted to ask if anyone has experimented with splitting the weekly dose into two injections a few days apart. I remember reading that smoother plasma levels sometimes help with both tolerance and efficacy, but I have no idea if that holds up for tirzepatide specifically given the 5 day half life.

The other option is to stay the course, accept the plateau, and let the next dose step do its thing. I have seen plateaus resolve on their own at week 16 or 17.

Curious what others have done. Did pushing the dose break the stall for you, or did you end up waiting it out? Not looking to add anything new to the stack right now, just want to optimize the current one.

  • tiredmira: Splitting the dose is something I've messed around with too. Same half life logic applies, basically if it's gone after about 5 days then once weekly leaves these little gaps where hunger can creep back in. What I noticed for myself was smoother days overall on 2 injections vs one. Less of that day 3-4 dip where I'd feel ravenous out of nowhere. Appetite control felt more even. It didn't magically restart fat loss for me though. The stall broke when I actually pushed to the next dose, not from
  • weekendnate: Yeah that lines up with what I was hoping to hear. The day 3 to 4 ravenous thing is exactly where I am right now, so if splitting smooths that out it is worth a couple week test on its own even before I touch the dose. I think I will try twice a week for the next three weeks at the same 12.5 total, keep the food log tight, and weigh daily to see if anything shifts. If the appetite flattens but the scale still sits there, then I go to 15 and stop overthinking it. Did you keep the two injections
  • kyle711: Yeah that day 3-4 hunger thing is real, i had that too on weekly. Did you notice any difference in side effects between the once a week and split, or did that stay about the same?
  • weekendnate: Honestly the side effects stayed roughly the same for me, maybe a touch milder in the first 24 hours after each shot, but nothing I would call meaningful. The bigger change was how flat the hunger curve felt across the whole week instead of that day 3 spike. Are you currently splitting or still on weekly?
