Novo Nordisk just committed up to $2B to Vivtex, a startup focused on oral delivery for metabolic peptides. The CEO basically admitted their current oral peptides have dosing limits and said Vivtex has ideas on how to fix that, but wouldn't share what.
This one caught my eye because oral bioavailability is the whole bottleneck. You can engineer a beautiful peptide and it doesn't matter if half of it gets chewed up in the gut. I've poked at oral BPC for a cranky Achilles and honestly couldn't tell if it was doing anything, which tracks with the dosing ceiling they're admitting to. If Vivtex actually cracks better absorption, that's a real game changer, not just another press release ðŸ§
But I'm skeptical until I see pharmacokinetic data in humans. A $2B headline is sexy, but I'd rather see one solid PK curve than ten funding rounds. Anyone here following Vivtex or oral peptide tech more closely?
