Tirzepatide stall at week 12, what actually broke the plateau for you

I started my own experiment with tirz just after the new year. Standard titration, worked up to 7.5mg, and the first 10 weeks went about as well as you could ask. Then it just stopped. Weight flat for almost two weeks, calories already in a deficit, steps already high, sleep and HRV looked fine on my end.
I know stalls are normal and the medication is still doing metabolic work even when the scale is quiet. But it is frustrating when the trend line goes sideways.
For those who hit a similar wall, what actually moved the needle? A dose bump, splitting the timing, adding a piece to the stack, or just riding it out until the body caught up? I am not looking for medical advice, just curious what other people have seen in their own data. Also open to whether retatrutide or CagriSema are worth a serious look once availability gets easier, or if I am overthinking the plateau.

- rachel_ketogen: Week 10 to 12 is a really common spot for it to stall. A few things that seemed to help when my trend went flat. Splitting the dose helped me more than I expected, half mid week half on shot day. Also calories had crept back up without me noticing, a food log for a week showed where. As far as switching, reta is gonna hit harder on the scale but the sides look rougher, and CagriSema data is interesting but its new enough that id want to see more real world reports before jumping. You mentioned
- mike_lifts: Yeah the split dosing thing is underrated anecdotally. I've seen a few folks say going to every 5 days instead of 7 also helped when they stalled around that same mark. Food log is a good call too, that's where most of my own stalls have come from. Calories drift up so slowly you don't notice until you write it down. Keep us posted on what you land on.
- weekendnate: Splitting the timing is interesting, I have not tried breaking the weekly dose yet. The every 5 day schedule is a little harder to keep consistent with my work week but I might experiment with half doses twice a week and see what my morning fasted glucose and appetite suppression look like. Food log is fair, I already track pretty tightly but you are right that a few hundred calories of "tasting while cooking" or extra peanut butter probably crept in without me flagging it. I will run another
- grinder265: Ngl splitting the dose made a difference for me too i went 3.75 twice a week and saw the scale move again after a week of logging food turned out i was sneaking in extra snacks without realizing it keep the deficit honest and maybe try a tiny bump to 10mg if the split doesnt do it after another two weeks just my two cents.
- weekendnate: Ha, the sneaky snacks thing is so real, I went back through my food log and definitely found a few hundred calories of "samples" at work that I had not counted. Going to lock that down first and try the split at 7.5 before I jump to 10. Did you do the split on the same day or space them out a few days apart?
- weekendnate: Yeah the split dosing is something I have been on the fence about. My shot day is Monday so maybe half Tuesday, half Friday or something. Food log is a good call, I am probably underestimating somewhere, maybe weekend meals sneaking up. Reta does look like a sledgehammer but I am not in a rush to find out what the GI stuff actually feels like in real life.
