Switching from sema to CagriSema, the amylin piece actually surprised me

So I finally made the swap from plain sema over to CagriSema and I wanted to log it here since I love seeing the actual numbers on these things.

The first two weeks I felt like nothing had changed honestly. Same food noise level, same fullness cues, same mild nausea mornings. Then around week 3 something shifted. The urge to snack at night basically disappeared, and not in the "I should not eat this" willpower way, more like the signal just was not there. That's the amylin piece I think, since GLP-1 alone never fully killed the late night cravings for me.

My average daily calories dropped about 200 kcal without me trying, which on paper does not sound huge but it tracks with how the loss feels. Sema alone I was stuck at a plateau for like 6 weeks. Down 4 pounds in the first month on CagriSema, which is not magic but it's movement again πŸ₯—

Side effects are basically what I had on straight sema, maybe a little more constipation honestly.

Has anyone else noticed the amylin effect kick in around week 3? Curious if that timing holds for others or if it's just me.

  • quiet_ironman: Your week 3 timing lines up with what I keep hearing, the amylin piece seems to take a beat longer to really show up than the GLP-1 side of it, so that's not just you πŸ”¬ The snack signal thing is what I find most interesting honestly, because GLP-1s gave me fullness but never fully turned off the "I want something crunchy at 9pm" pull. If cagrilintide is doing that for you too then that's a real difference, not just a stronger GLP-1 effect. 4 pounds in a month with zero forced deficit sounds ri
  • tiredmira: Honestly yes the amylin thing lining up around week 3 for you too makes me feel less crazy about it πŸ˜… For the constipation, magnesium glycinate at night plus way more water than I think I need, and if it gets stubborn I'll do a half dose of MiraLax. It was worse the first 10 days for sure, now it's basically managed as long as I stay on top of the water. Fiber intake matters too but I will not pretend I'm hitting 30g a day consistently, more like 20 on a good day.
