Adding spermidine to my morning stack, week 2 and a little surprised

So I started spermidine about two weeks ago, mostly out of curiosity after reading about how autophagy declines with age and how this stuff supposedly nudges it along. I went with a low dose first, like 1-2 mg range, just because I didn't wanna find out the hard way that my gut hates it. Took it in the morning with breakfast, nothing crazy.
First thing I noticed, kinda weird to say, but my sleep feels a little deeper? Like I'm waking up less in the middle of the night. Could absolutely be placebo, I only have my own experience to go on here. My skin also looks a tiny bit brighter around day 10, but again, could be the biotin injection I run too, hard to separate the two.
What I like is that it's supposed to mimic some of the same cellular clean-up signals as rapamycin and metformin, without the GI drama metformin gives me. My doc is cool with me layering it and I'm getting bloodwork next month so we'll see if anything actually moves on paper.
Anyone else running it solo or stacked with metformin? Curious what dose people are landing on long term π§

- tiredmira: Interesting timing, I actually started tracking spermidine myself like a month ago after digging into the autophagy stuff too. I'm at 3mg in the morning, no GI issues so far which is a win. The sleep thing is real for me also, my HRV trend on my watch actually nudged up a tiny bit in week 2. Could be nothing but it's at least consistent. I'd be curious what your bloodwork shows, especially inflammatory markers. Mine weren't anything crazy before so hard to see a shift. Are you taking it every
- restless_vet: Tiredmira that's interesting that your HRV nudged up, that's actually a measurable thing not just vibes lol. I've heard mixed stuff on daily vs cycling, some of the longevity folks lean toward daily since spermidine is in food anyway, but I'd want to see a study before committing either way. Have you noticed anything with recovery or training days? π
- patient_codes: Sorry, that's patient_codes, not tiredmira, easy mix up though since we're both in the longevity threads a lot. But yeah recovery is actually the one place I noticed something weird, my usual squat day soreness is gone a day sooner than it used to be, like I'm not hobbling down the stairs on day 2 anymore. Could be a million things, my sleep being better probably helps too. For daily vs cycling, I think I'm just gonna stay daily for now since it lines up with how I'd get it from food anyway, an
- patient_codes: No GI stuff at 3mg is good to know honestly, I might bump mine up a little and see. The HRV nudge is cool too, mine doesn't really track HRV well on my current watch so I can't compare, but I notice the deeper sleep thing the same way. Bloodwork is scheduled for week 6, so I'll have CRP and a few other markers to report back on. I'm doing it daily right now, no cycling, mostly because I keep reading the longevity guys say consistency matters more than cycling this one. But honestly I might be m
