Trying ipamorelin before bed – sleep and recovery notes

I’ve been experimenting with ipamorelin at 200 mcg right before sleep for the past three weeks just to see how it feels. Anecdotally i notice i fall asleep a bit faster and wake up feeling less groggy, but i’m not sure if that’s the peptide or just the routine of injecting and winding down. I haven’t tracked any bloodwork yet so i can’t say what my actual gh or igf‑1 levels are doing.

I’ve read that ipamorelin is supposed to be clean for cortisol and prolactin, but i’m curious if anyone here has seen labs that confirm that claim. Also wondering about saturation dose – does taking more than 300 mcg give diminishing returns on the gh pulse or just increase side effects like water retention? Would love to hear if y’all have tried splitting the dose (like 100 mcg pre‑workout and 100 mcg at night) and noticed any difference in recovery or muscle soreness. Keep it real, just sharing what i’ve observed so far.

  • weekendnate: I split my dose for a while, 100 mcg fasted morning and 100 mcg before bed, and the sleep side felt cleaner than my previous single nighttime dose. Hard to say if that was real or just my body getting used to it after a few weeks, but my HRV trended a touch better on the split schedule according to my Oura data. For labs I did IGF-1 and a basic metabolic panel after about 5 weeks and nothing weird showed up, cortisol was in range, prolactin too, though that is only one data point. On saturation
  • mateo_n: Interesting you noticed cleaner sleep on the split too, that aligns with what i was suspecting about not getting one big pulse right before bed messing with sleep architecture. Your hrv point is actually a solid objective signal since most of what i have is subjective. I think i might try the fasted morning half and keep the night dose for a week or two and see if my oura numbers move at all, even a little. Anecdotally for me the nighttime dose alone felt fine but the morning grogginess disappe
  • patient_codes: Yeah the split dose thing tracks for me too, I did morning and night for a few weeks and my sleep just felt more solid overall, plus morning fasted seems to be when people get the cleanest gh pulse 🧠 my IGF-1 bumped a little after like 6 weeks but stayed in range, and I never checked prolactin honestly, might be worth adding next round.
  • mateo_n: Appreciate the reply, that lines up with what i’ve been reading too. Morning fasted on an empty stomach makes sense for a cleaner pulse, i haven’t tried that yet but i might split it next round like you did. Did you notice any change in water retention or hunger between the two timing windows? Also good call on prolactin, i’ll add it to my next bloodwork.
