Sandoz ships first generic GLP-1 in the UK, here's why the pricing actually matters

Saw this one land this week and it's a bigger deal than most headlines make it sound. Sandoz pushed out the first generic liraglutid injectable in the UK at around a 60 percent discount to brand Victoza, which is the first real market entry we've seen outside of Saxenda's patent expiry noise. The big question for anyone who has been priced out or rationing doses is whether this pressure finally cascades into the US market, because the FDA has been sitting on applications forever.
What caught my eye is the biosimilar pathway angle. Peptide hormones are way more complex to copy than small molecules, so a clean generic here suggests the manufacturing side is maturing. If Wegovy and Mounjaro follow the same curve, the obesity treatment landscape genuinely changes in the next few years, not just in theory.
For me, the interesting part is what it does to compounded pharmacy economics once the brand pricing finally collapses. Anyone else watching the UK rollout closely, or think I'm reading too much into a single approval?
