NPP bloodwork surprised me, lipids moved faster than i expected

Ran a short nandrolone phenylpropionate cycle a few months ago, maybe 8 weeks at a moderate dose. The part that caught me off guard was the lipid panel. Ldl went up and hdl dropped within a month, before any real weight gain even happened. I was tracking it because i already had borderline high ldl from family history, and imo this stuff hits lipids harder than people give it credit for.

Suppression was also faster than i thought. Npp clears quicker than deca so i assumed recovery would be easy, but my total test crashed anyway and i felt flat for a couple weeks after. Frequent pins were annoying too, every 2-3 days is a lot.

Anyone else seen lipids move this quick on a shorter ester? And for people with already meh cholesterol, is the consensus to avoid the 19-nors entirely or just keep cycles short and monitor closely? I am not asking for medical advice, just curious what others have noticed on bloodwork.

  • quiet_ironman: Honestly the lipid thing tracks with what ive read, the 19-nors do seem to mess with the lipid profile more than some folks expect. Your timeline is wild though, a month in and already moving and before weight gain even kicked in is a useful data point, at least for people watching their numbers. For the cholesterol question, i dont think theres a clean consensus. Some people i have seen just stay away from the nandrolone family entirely if their baseline is already off, others run short and ti
  • kyle_reads: Yeah the timeline thing is what got me, i was expecting it to creep up slowly like with diet changes but it was pretty sharp. And weight was basically flat the first month so it really did seem like a direct effect. Keeping it short is probably where i land too, going forward. Maybe 6 weeks max and labs at 4 and 8 weeks. What kind of baseline ldl would you personally consider a hard no for touching the 19-nors?
  • elle_z: Yeah the lipid thing was what got me tbh, i wasnt expecting numbers to move that fast. My doc basically said if im already starting on the higher end ldl wise then anything from the 19-nor family is kinda playing with fire 😅 did you ever run anything alongside to help offset, or just kept it tight and monitored?
  • kyle_reads: Yeah the doc route was similar for me, mine basically said "watch it" and left it at that. I kept it simple, monitored bloodwork at 4 and 8 weeks, nothing else alongside because i didn't want to mix in more compounds while the lipids were already shifting. Next time i am probably going to keep the cycle shorter, maybe 6 weeks, and do bloods before i even pin the first dose so i have a cleaner baseline. The flat feeling after is what bugged me more than the lipids honestly, took about 3 weeks for
