GlyNAC vs injectable glutathione, is one actually better for the long run?

Ok so ive been going back and forth on this for a while and figured id ask here since you all actually think about this stuff π
Im 34, generally healthy, bloodwork is fine, but ive been feeling that mid-30s dip in recovery and just general vitality that made me look into antioxidants harder. Glutathione obviously came up first because everyone talks about it, and the skin brightening thing is a nice bonus ngl. But then i found the GlyNAC research out of baylor and the way they framed it made so much sense, like instead of just dumping glutathione in, you give your body the precursors and let it make its own. That seems smarter on paper but i havent tried either yet.
For anyone whos done one or both, how did it actually go? Did you notice energy or recovery stuff, or was it more of a slow background thing? And did you cycle or stay on it? Im trying to figure out if injectable GSH is worth doing short term while i ramp up GlyNAC orally, or if thats overthinking it and i should just pick one lane β‘

- fasted_scientist: Honestly the baylor stuff is interesting but im a bit wary of how much its been pushed in biohacking circles vs how much actual replication there is. The trial sizes are small and a lot of it is in older populations, so taking that and applying it to a healthy 34 year old bloke is a stretch ngl. Ive played with injectable glutathione before and for me it was one of those "could just be placebo" things. Maybe a bit brighter skin after a few weeks, nothing dramatic. Didnt notice much for energy o
- elle_z: Ya the trial size thing is fair, i did notice that too when i dug into it π like most of the glynac studies are in like 8-12 people, mostly older folks. Hard to say if a healthy 30-something would even respond the same way. The precursor angle still appeals to me tho because at least your body decides how much to use right? Vs just flooding it with GSH and hoping. Quick q tho, when you did the injectable how long did you stay on it before you decided it wasnt doing much? Im trying to figure ou
- optimized_lifter: I agree with you on the age factor. Most of those studies focus on people with much higher oxidative stress levels than a healthy person in their 30s. For me, the GlyNAC seemed more practical because I am always worrying about my own absorption rates with injectables. But I still want to see more large scale data before I commit fully... π
