RU-58841 scalp irritation after a few weeks, normal or am I doing something wrong

Ngl I've been on topical RU for maybe 4 weeks now and the front of my scalp where I apply is getting kinda angry. Not full blown red but it feels tight and dry, kinda flaky along the hairline, and there's a slight sting if I scratch it. I mix 50mg/mL in a standard vehicle, apply once a day at night, wash it off in the morning.
For me it started around week 3 and seemed to creep up rather than show up overnight. Could just be the vehicle drying me out, could be the compound itself, could be that I'm applying too much volume in one spot. I read that scalp irritation is listed as a known side effect so I'm not panicking, but I want to figure out if I should dilute further, drop to every other day, or just rotate the application sites.
Anyone else dealt with this and had it calm down after adjusting the routine, or did you end up having to bail on it entirely. And for anyone who pushed through, how long did the irritation take to settle once you changed things up.
