NA-Semax Amidate insomnia when dosed after 4pm, anyone else get this or is it just me?

Started messing around with NA-Semax Amidate a few weeks back, first time using a nootropic peptide longer than plain Semax. The focus part is honestly lekker, clean without the jittery thing caffeine gives me, and I don't get the mid-afternoon crash either.

The issue is sleep. First week I was dosing around 7am and again at 2pm, slept fine. Then I pushed my second dose to about 5pm because I had marking to finish and couldn't get to it in the afternoon. That night I was wide awake at 1am, mind still ticking over, took me ages to actually drop off. Did the same the next day and same thing happened, so it's not a one off.

Cut the second dose back to before 3pm and sleep went back to normal within two nights. I'm guessing the longer half-life from the acetyl/amidate mods means it's still pushing BDNF and dopamine stuff well into the evening if you dose late.

Anyone else hit this? And if you've found a sweet spot for timing without losing the afternoon focus, I'd keen to hear it. Also curious if pairing it with NA-Selank Amidate in the evening helps take the edge off or if that's overkill.

  • honest_engineer: Yeah, late dosing bites me too. I've stuck to morning only with Semax and the amidated version, and if I need a second pull I keep it before 2pm. Anything after that and I'm staring at the ceiling. Your guess tracks with what I've read about the half life being longer with the modifications, so it makes sense the effects hang around into evening. Re Selank in the evening, I'd skip that combo personally. Selank can be stimulating for some folks too, and stacking two brain-active peptides late ju
  • liam_sleepnerd: 100% agree on the cutoff window thing, I cap any nootropic dosing at noon now after learning the hard way. The half life comment tracks with my notes too, the amidated version seems to linger in a way plain Semax didn't for me, at least subjectively. Curious if y'all have tried shifting to a lower afternoon amount instead of cutting it out entirely? I might experiment with like a quarter dose late and see if I get the focus without the ceiling staring contest.
  • runner_aaron: Tbh I haven't tried a quarter dose late, I just killed the second dose entirely once I linked it to the sleep issue. Might give a smaller afternoon dose a shot though, like you said, to keep some of that focus without lying in bed staring at the ceiling. Were you getting any noticeable focus drop when you cut it to noon only, or did the morning dose carry you through?
  • runner_aaron: Yeah agreed, I've been keeping my cutoff at 3pm after that little experiment and it's been solid. The Selank thing is interesting actually, I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list. If it's even slightly stimulating then yeah, evening is a no-go. Do you get any kind of crash or just a clean come-down when you stop the amidate after a run?
