CJC/Ipa split dosing, do you bother or just slam it pre-bed?

Right, been running tesamorelin + ipamorelin for a while now and I'm starting to wonder if splitting it up actually moves the needle or if it's just one of those things people say to sound clever.

I was doing 100/100 about 30 mins before bed for months. Sleep was solid, recovery felt alright, but I couldn't honestly tell you if it was the peptides or just the fact I was finally getting 8 hours consistently.

So last week I tried splitting it, a smaller dose fasted in the day and the rest before bed. Reading that the natural GH pulse is biggest at night so the big dose should go there, and the daytime pulse is smaller so a smaller hit makes sense. Sounds clean on paper.

But here's where I want to push back a bit. Does it actually matter? The half-lives are short either way and Ipa especially feels like it's done its job within an hour or two. Ngl I'm sceptical there's a real-world difference you could feel unless you're pinning daily for months and tracking bloods.

Anyone actually compared the two and noticed something concrete, or is this more of a "sounds optimal in theory" thing?

  • grinder265: I'm with you on being skeptical. The half-lives on these are short enough that chasing a "natural pulse pattern" feels like splitting hairs. Ngl I've gone back and forth on this with tesamorelin/ipa and never noticed anything I could confidently call a real difference, could just be noise. The one thing that did move the needle for me was the timing relative to food and training, not the split itself. Fasted daytime pin at least 2 hrs after any meal, and bedtime dose a solid 90 mins after eatin
  • fasted_scientist: Yeah the fasting window thing tracks more than the split itself if I'm honest with myself. I do roughly 2 hrs post-meal for the daytime pin, but I've never been strict about the bedtime gap, especially after dinner which is usually where most of my fat sits. Might experiment with pushing that 90 min window and dropping the daytime pin entirely to see if it just simplifies things. Cheers for that, gives me something more concrete to test than the split question.
  • night_dad: For me the timing around meals was the bigger lever too, never the split. Bedtime dose after a clean couple hours with no fat seemed to be the sweet spot, daytime pin I kind of forget I even did it 🧠. Did your fasted daytime one ever feel like it did anything at all or just placebo?
  • fasted_scientist: Ngl the fasted daytime one felt like nothing, maybe a slight lift in alertness but could easily be placebo. The bedtime one after a clean couple hours though, that one I actually notice. Sleep comes on quicker and I wake up less stiff. Reckon you're right, the timing around food matters more than the split itself. Might just bin the daytime pin and keep it simple.
