FDA scientists vs advisers on peptides, the split tells you everything

NPR has the FDA's own scientists basically pushing back on the panel that wants to loosen restrictions on things like BPC-157 and TB-500. The scientists are saying the safety data just isn't there and the advisers are voting to add them to the compounding list anyway. That split matters to me because the people reviewing the actual studies are saying one thing and the vote is going the other way.

What bugs me is the framing keeps making it sound like this is a MAHA vs FDA fight when really it's a data fight. Either the evidence supports safety or it doesn't, and the scientists inside the agency seem to think it doesn't. Ngl it feels like a few popular compounds are going to get the green light based on hype more than the actual literature.

Curious what people here think, is this a legit path to cleaner access or just opening the door to another wild west situation?
