HMG + HCG mono therapy restart, does timing matter more than dose for guys coming off TRT?

Coming off TRT after like 18 months, balls are basically decorative at this point. Planning to run HMG 75 IU 3x a week alongside HCG 1000 IU 2x a week, goal is restart before trying for a kid sometime next year.

Question for anyone who's done this combo, how much does timing actually matter? Like should I pin HMG and HCG on the same days, split them AM/PM, or stagger them across the week? The half lives are different (FSH ~37h, LH ~33h for HCG) so my gut says spacing them out might keep stimulation more even, but I dont know if thats overthinking it.

Also, do I need to wait a few weeks on HCG alone before adding HMG, or can I just start both from day one? Some guys online say HMG first otherwise the Sertoli cells arent ready, others say it doesnt matter.

  • grinder265: The half-life logic tracks tbh, keeping more steady receptor stimulation rather than spikes makes sense on paper. From a pharm angle I'd stagger them, same day is fine but don't pin them simultaneously. AM HCG with longer acting HMG later in the week or vice versa, just keep like 12+ hours apart if same day. On the HMG first thing, I dont think the Sertoli cell readiness argument holds much water since HCG/LH drives the initial stimulation anyway and FSH follows. Starting both together is prett
  • leah_vo2max: Yeah the pharm logic is what made me lean that way too, glad its not just me overthinking it. I'll probably do HCG mon/wed/fri AM and HMG mon/thu PM, that gives me the spacing without it getting complicated. On starting both together, thats kinda what I figured. The Sertoli readiness thing sounds like one of those forum myths that just keeps getting repeated, like everyone cites the same guy who cited some paper from 2003. If you havent seen anything solid on it I'll probably just start day one
  • erin_rows: To be fair the half-life math is grand in theory but your balls have been asleep for 18 months, they're not going to notice a 12-hour stagger. I'd just pick a schedule you'll actually stick to and not overthink the receptor spacing. Consistency beats optimisation every time with this stuff.
  • leah_vo2max: Yeah fair point honestly, i've been going back and forth on schedules for like a week and not pinning anything. I think im just gonna do HMG mon/wed/fri mornings and HCG tues/sat, easy enough to remember. To be fair the consistency angle is prob what actually moves the needle here. Did you run them together from day one or ramp HCG first?
